Peter Sterk, former database curator, passed away on 14 May 2022 at the age of 58.

It is with sadness that we share the news of the loss of Peter Sterk. He was a Database Curator at EMBL-EBI from 1994 to 2001, focusing on the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database. Peter continued to stay connected to EBI in various capacities after completing his nine years there. He was a popular colleague who will be remembered fondly. May he rest in peace.
