Public event
All EMBL staff, alumni, their colleagues and networks are invited to EMBL in Denmark 2021: Enzymes of the future at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Copenhagen, held on Friday to Saturday 3-4 December 2021.
This free two-day event includes a diverse group of speakers from Denmark, recent Novozyme Prize winner Peer Bork and a keynote lecture from Bernard Henrissat. The event will focus on enzymes, structural enzymology and scientific services. It will also include information on the newly launched DANEMO (Danish research support centre and communication platform with the mission to raise awareness of EMBL and EMBO opportunities), a poster session and opportunities to make new connections and broaden your network over coffee breaks and lunch.
Masters students and fellows from Danish institutions are especially encouraged to attend Day 2 as there will be sessions that focus on careers in Denmark and at EMBL. Travel funding is available, so please visit the “Travel Awards” tab.
This event is open to all and includes coffee breaks and lunch. Space is limited so please register as early possible to secure a spot.
Who Should Attend:
Tradionally, EMBL in… events are open to all life scientists. The aim is to share what’s happening at EMBL with communities in our EMBL member and associate member states, as well as learn about new and innovative life sciences research and resources available in EMBL host countries. With these events, we seek to open up valuable dialogue, ensuring that as many people as possible have access to the opportunities provided by both EMBL and its alumni and partners.

Introducing DANEMO
DANEMO is the Danish research support centre and communication platform with the mission to increase attention to the numerous opportunities at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) for career paths, funding, and scientific services such as core facilities, databases, instruments, and large-scale facilities. EMBO and EMBL opportunities are relevant to everyone in the Danish research communities within life sciences in both academia and industry, from undergraduates to senior scientists!
Introducing DANDRITE – the Danish node of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine
The Danish Research Institute of Translational Neuroscience (DANDRITE) was established by Lundbeckfonden and Aarhus University in 2013 and performs basic and translational research in brain and the nervous system. DANDRITE is the Danish node of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine, which is a network that facilitates collaborative research, access to scientific infrastructure, and fosters outstanding international research talent.
