Preserving and sharing the Laboratory’s heritage
The EMBL Archive is dedicated to connecting both the EMBL community and external visitors with the archives and records management work and mission.
We offer onsite tours of our archival materials, providing an in-depth look at the fascinating documents and artefacts that tell the story of EMBL’s development and achievements. These tours are open to both the EMBL community and external visitors, providing a unique opportunity to explore our collections up close. In addition, during special events such as International Archives Week (internal access only), we display selected archival materials to highlight their importance and raise awareness.
Keep up to date with our latest news and activities on our dedicated blog, Archive Stories. Here we share insights into our archival collections, behind-the-scenes looks at our work and stories that bring the past to life. Whether you’re an archive enthusiast or a casual reader, there’s something for everyone on our blog.
We use posters and campaigns to promote our work. We are currently running a Call for Archival Material (internal access only) across all EMBL sites, seeking contributions that document the history and development of EMBL. This campaign aims to enrich our collections and ensure that we capture the diverse and dynamic history of EMBL.
