MSD is a global biopharmaceutical company. MSD UK discovery centre is a state-of-the-art research laboratory developing therapies against some of the most challenging diseases facing ageing populations. As a partner in this project, MSD intends to cooperate with the EMBL towards training of the Fellows. MSD may be able to host up to two 2   Fellows per year during the period 2021-2025 through secondments and intends to introduce them to the ways of  working, instrumentation and procedures at MSD. Duration of secondments may be between two (2) and six (6) months and will be arranged in communication with the Fellow.

Fellows selected to complete secondment at MSD will come from the field related to or complementary of the field of work of MSD, such as creating life science research infrastructure. At MSD, Fellows may have the opportunity to learn

(i) building infrastructure for translational research;

(ii) using machine learning in drug discovery; and/or

(iii) multi-parametric biological data analysis and data integration.

The Fellows may also have the opportunity to become acquainted with the operation of high throughput imaging and screening facilities. MSD intends to dedicate supervision capacity by Victor Neduva for each Fellow on a secondment at MSD. During secondments, Fellows can stay employed by EMBL.

In addition, MSD intends to host mini-secondments for up to two (2) weeks, during which time Fellows may shadow operations at MSD
