In my group we’re analysing very large imaging datasets, for example from FIB-SEM (Focused Ion Beam Scanning Electron Microscopy).

The IT department has set up virtual machines so that we can process these datasets much faster. It’s also great to be able to run these analyses from wherever we are. This is something that my lab’s going to be using more and more.

What I find very special about the IT department here is that you can come to them with a problem and they’ll solve it very quickly. The efficiency of the team is really remarkable.
