Our inspiring educational experiences share the scientific discoveries of EMBL with young learners aged 10-19 years and teachers in Europe and beyond. We belong to EMBL’s Science Education and Public Engagement office.
The 11th February is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The Day was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in order to promote full and equal access and participation for women and girls in science. Today is an opportunity to celebrate the essential role that women and girls play in science and technology.
EMBL is a member of EIROforum (European Intergovernmental Research Organisation forum), which brings together eight of Europe’s largest research organisations. As part of EIROforum’s celebrations for this day, member organisations reached out to the children in the lives of their staff, and asked them to tap into their artistic creativity and provide a drawing to celebrate the theme of ‘Women in Science’.
This page features the drawings submitted by EMBL personnel.
We wish to thank all of our young artists for joining in the celebration of International Day of Women and Girls in Science!
