Formerly known as European Learning Laboratory for the Life Sciences
Our inspiring educational experiences share the scientific discoveries of EMBL with young learners aged 10-19 years and teachers in Europe and beyond. We belong to EMBL’s Science Education and Public Engagement office.
Genome editing has the transformative power to revolutionise medical treatments, agricultural practices and our understanding of genetics. EMBL’s Science Education and Public Engagement (SEPE) team, in partnership with Merck, invites educators and anyone interested in this exciting field of research to take part in a self-paced training course this summer.
The self-paced course “The CRISPR Revolution” course, features content from the EMBL virtual LearningLAB 2021 “The CRISPR revolution: genome editing in basic research and beyond”, exploring genome editing techniques, particularly CRISPR-Cas9, and its applications in both research and clinical settings, with a focus on practical strategies for teaching this cutting-edge topic in the classroom. Enriched with pre-recorded scientific discussions and replenished collections with learning and teaching resources, this course deepens our understanding of the importance of genome editing.
The course is free of charge, certification-ready, and runs exclusively online from 1 May to 9 June 2024, with the option to join daily. Each participant has the flexibility to explore the course content based on their own interests and at their own pace. The course language is English. Visit the course page to find out more.
