Formerly known as European Learning Laboratory for the Life Sciences
Our inspiring educational experiences share the scientific discoveries of EMBL with young learners aged 10-19 years and teachers in Europe and beyond. We belong to EMBL’s Science Education and Public Engagement office.
There is still time to apply for the upcoming ELLS LearningLAB entitled “The new gene technology revolution – exploring genome engineering and transgenic animal research”, which will take place at EMBL Heidelberg (Germany) between 19th and 21st March 2017. Application closing date is Sunday, 5th February 2017.
The 2.5-day course in the English language is aimed at European secondary school science teachers and pre-service teachers and will consist of a mix of seminars by EMBL scientists, hands-on activities, lab experiments and visits to state-of-the-art research facilities at EMBL. The programme will cover a wide range of topics and highlight the use of cutting-edge gene technologies and transgenic animals in research, and how these topics may be transferred to the classrooms.
Further information about the LearningLAB, the course programme and how to apply can be found on the course page.
