Formerly known as European Learning Laboratory for the Life Sciences
Our inspiring educational experiences share the scientific discoveries of EMBL with young learners aged 10-19 years and teachers in Europe and beyond. We belong to EMBL’s Science Education and Public Engagement office.
There is one week left to apply to take part in the upcoming ELLS LearningLAB entitled “Bringing structures to life – new ways of teaching biology”, which will take place on 10th & 11th October 2016 at EMBL Hamburg (Germany).
The course will provide an interactive introduction to the field of structural biology. The professional training course for secondary school science teachers will consist of a mix of seminars by EMBL scientists, hands-on activities, lab experiments and visits to world-class research facilities on the campus of the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY). The programme will cover a wide range of topics and highlight the use of cutting-edge technologies to study macromolecular structures on the atomic scale, and how these topics may be transferred to the classrooms.
Please find further information about the LearningLAB, the course programme and how to apply on the course page.
Application deadline: Monday, 29th August, 5pm CET – early registrations are welcome and more likely to be successful.
Please feel free to share this invitation with your colleagues – including pre-service teachers.
