Strengthening cooperation in Open Science; Capacity building in life sciences, with particular focus on developing countries and Africa; Sharing of infrastructures, particularly online bioinformatic resources; Promoting gender equality and diversity in science

EMBL and UNESCO have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the basis of shared strategic goals, as reflected in UNESCO’s 2021-2025 Programme, and EMBL’s 2022-2026 Programme “Molecules to Ecosystems”. Both organisations agree to carry out joint projects and activities to contribute to advancing science for sustainable development and reducing inequalities.
