Anca-Mihaela Belu

Prior to joining EMBL-EBI in 2024, Anca was a Programme Manager in the team that created and delivered The Startup School, the first genomics and biodata entrepreneurship programme at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, and a Global Community Lead at Cambridge Enterprise, the translation arm of Cambridge University.

Her passion for events management has taken her from Romania to Spain, Manchester and now Cambridge, with roles in event and travel agencies, deep tech and biotech innovation centres and life sciences entrepreneurship programmes.

Anca has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Business Management and Communications, both awarded in Bucharest, Romania.
