The Director of EMBL Heidelberg provides leadership and guidance to the site, oversees the various scientific activities carried out in Heidelberg and ensures integration of administrative functions and operational aspects across the site.
As EMBL Heidelberg is not only the Laboratory’s main scientific site, but also the EMBL headquarter, Peer Bork also tightly interacts with the Director General and the Chief Operating Officer in fostering collaboration among the Laboratory's staff.
In his work, the Director of EMBL Heidelberg is supported by the EMBL Heidelberg Director’s Office.
