Accommodation

EMBL Hotel ISG and Guest Houses provide accommodation for visitors and scientists coming to EMBL Heidelberg.

All of our houses are located in Heidelberg-Boxberg, at a short distance from the EMBL facilities. There is also a shuttle service between the ISG Hotel and the Guesthouses and EMBL in the morning.

Hotel ISG

The hotel and conference venue ISG in Heidelberg (Boxberg area) provides comfortable and affordable accommodation in 50 double and single rooms.

All 50 rooms have bathroom, cable TV, tea facilities, telephone and balcony. They are partly designed in the 'Berliner Bauhaus' design and are non-smoking. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning. Guests can use the sauna and fitness facilities free of charge, and also the Shuttle Service in the morning from the hotel to EMBL.

Please note that there are special rates for EMBL employees and their visitors at the Hotel ISG.

Guest Houses

Guest House Boxberg I

Boxbergring 107, 69126 Heidelberg

Guest House Boxberg is the nearest Guest House to EMBL, only a 10-minute walk. The EMBL shuttle and public bus 39A are available to reach EMBL.
1-, 2-, 3- and 4-room apartments are available for your convenience during your stay.

Guest House Boxberg II

Boxbergring 101, 69126 Heidelberg Guest House Boxberg II is located 100m south of Guest House Boxberg.
2-room apartments are available for your convenience during your stay at EMBL.

Guest House Suedstadt

Römerstrasse 119, 69126 Heidelberg

The Guest House Suedstadt is located in the Suedstadt district. Public Transport is available to reach EMBL.
1 to 5 room apartments and shared apartments are available for your convenience during your stay at EMBL.

Reservations

You can reserve your apartment either by contacting the respective Guest House officer or with the group secretaries at EMBL.

If you make your reservation well in advance, you make sure there will be an apartment available for you. Please let us know your date of arrival when making your reservation. Your key will be available at the reception of the Hotel ISG.

Housing Service

The Housing Service assists EMBL employees in finding and renting apartments or houses in Heidelberg and surroundings, and provides advice regarding rental contracts. Please mind that the Housing Service is not an estate agency and cannot provide legal advice.

EMBL shuttle

The EMBL shuttle offers a morning and an evening service. The shuttle service is free of charge and is designed to primarily transport EMBL staff travelling to and from their homes.

In the morning there are two round trips going from the Guesthouse Boxberg via Hotel ISG to EMBL and back. In the evening the shuttle provides one trip downtown calling at Alois-Link-Platz, HD Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) and Bismarckplatz.

The shuttle stop is directly in front of the ATC.
